Canadian Aboriginals have been wearing mukluks for hundreds of years. But Jaime Cooke made the product end up on well-known fashionable people and celebrities. Jaime Cooke's story is sprinkled with fairy dust.

Jaime founded in 2003, and her company has seen steady growth since that time. Celebrities like Kate Moss, Beyonce Knowles and Paris Hilton have secured Muks as a culturally relevant brand in the States and beyond.

In 2003, Jaime tried to sell Muks in a boutique. After two weeks, Kate Moss was all over the papers wearing the Muks. Jaime contacted the Aboriginal Board of Canada. Then, she secured the worldwide distribution rights for mukluks and sent all the major fashion stores the photo of Kate Moss wearing the boots. 90 percent ordered them from that picture without even seeing the boots.
