Beijing Rui Fu Xiang Silk Store (briefly RFX) was open since 1893 (19th year of the reign of Qing Emperor Guangxu), which enjoys a high reputation both at home and abroad. It was the head of "Eight Xiang" (in old Beijing, there were eight silk shops whose names all have the pronunciation "Xiang", so they were called "Eight Xiang").

The founder of RFX is Meng Hongsheng, who is a descendant of Mencius. He began business by managing homespun cloth, and his shop`s name is Wan Fuxiang. Later, with the thriving business, he opened chain stores in Shanghai, Qingdao and Tianjin. Then, he added some fancy goods like furs, silk and satin.

In the later Qing dynasty, RFX has become the biggest drapery store in Beijing and owned five branch stores called East Hong Kee tea shop, West Hong Kee tea shop, Hong Kee furs shop, Rui Fu Xiang head office and West Hong Kee drapery store, which all located at Dashilan.

Today, RFX was known to work with factories to get goods of high quality in novel styles and a variety of colors.
