Los Angeles based Atticus Clothing is the original music inspired streetwear brand. For over ten years Atticus has been the brand of choice for today's youth and the bands they love.
Atticus Clothing was conceived in the spring of 2001 on the back lot of a Blink 182 video shoot in Southern California. The idea had been tossed around for a while of starting a clothing line. But it was on that day, just before having to go out in front of the cameras in someone else's clothing that represented someone else's ideas, that the plan was set in motion, and Atticus was born.
The name Atticus came from two places. Firstly from the literary classic "To Kill a Mocking Bird", which influenced the now classic bird logo, and secondly Herodes Atticus, the ancient Greek patron of the arts who spent the bulk of his fortune supporting creativity and building venues for music to be enjoyed in.
The intention was, and still is, simply to create a clothing line that didn't label the wearer as anything but an individual. |
